Poll: Americans see ISIS as biggest threat to nation

This is the story that YOU wanted to hear us talk about! It received 45 percent of the vote in our Radioactive poll!

Americans see ISIS as a bigger threat to the nation than Iran, Russia, North Korea or China, according to a recent CNN/ORC poll.

Sixty-eight percent of people surveyed said the self-proclaimed Islamic State is a threat to the United States, compared to just 39 percent of people who say so about Iran, 32 percent about North Korea, 25 percent with Russia and 18 percent on China.

The numbers are high across party lines as well: 68 percent of Democrats, 79 percent of Republicans and 63 percent of Independents all agree that the Islamic State is a threat.

Out of the 1,018 randomly selected adults surveyed, 53 percent of Republicans refer to Iran as a very serious threat, compared to just 38 percent of Independents and 29 percent of Democrats.

The poll also found that the more likely a person is to see Iran as a national threat, the less likely they are to support a deal that would ease economic sanctions for major restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.
