Photographer gets creative reuniting deceased father with young family

The wonders of technology never fail to disappoint, particularly when it goes above and beyond to make the seemingly impossible, possible.

According to a report by WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama, a photographer in Oklahoma did just that, editing a photo of a young mother and her son to include the son’s father.

The problem? The man included in the photo is deceased.

Six-month old Taos and the boy’s mother, Sierra, lost the boy’s father, Lane, in an accident last July that would leave the young family incomplete. That is, until a local photographer lent a helping hand.

The Facebook page of Kayli Rene’ Photography has become a social media sensation of late after the photographer found a photo of Lane that fit near seamlessly with a recent photo taken of Sierra and Taos.

“I was like ‘I can’t believe she actually did this,’ it’s like amazing and apparently everyone else thinks it is too,” said Sierra to KOCO 5 News in Oklahoma City.

The photo has been shared by thousands since it was originally posted on April 1, with a number of strangers offering words of support and even financial donations to Sierra and Taos.

“Lane’s not physically here with us of course,” Sierra said. “But that picture represents to us that he’s always watching over us and he will always be there for us, no matter what.”

Those interested in assisting Sierra and Taos can send donations to:
