Survey: Most people won’t be crazy about their holiday gifts
This is the story that YOU wanted to hear us talk about! It received 56 percent of the vote in our Radioactive poll!
If most Americans knew how likely it is the gifts they select this holiday season will be disliked, they might not put as much time and effort into buying them.
According to Rakuten, a Japanese online retailer, 71 percent of Americans admitted they probably won’t like at least one gift they’ll receive this year. Over a third of those surveyed said they regift items they don’t want, while over a quarter give them to charity and 14 percent sell them.
The worst part? The study also reported the average American takes 14 hours picking out holiday gifts for loved ones.
So, what do people really want? Nearly 30 percent said they desire fashion accessories, and 13 percent said they’d be perfectly fine receiving a blank check.
