Movies in a Minute: ‘Unbroken’

An Olympic athlete joins the army during World War II. As he and his team are flying over enemy waters, their plane crashes and they are forced to survive off basic rations in a raft for 47 days. When they are rescued, it is by the Japanese and he is taken to a prisoner-of-war camp and tortured.

This movie is hard to watch at times, I’m not going to lie. The story, which really happened, is heartbreaking. However, it is a little long for me and, for first-time director Angelina Jolie’s movie, I think she could have cut some of it out. I think the story is fascinating and one of a kind for this American hero.
