Ninety-two-year-old Larkins is the oldest living, active African American DJ in the USA. For forty- five years, Bro. Fred Larkinsâ âSlow Train Radio Gospel Musical Reviewâ, has made an indelible impact on the Black community in the Greater Phoenix Area, the state of Arizona, and Los Angeles. His radio gospel music review show has provided inspiration during difficult times and served as a vehicle for African American business owners to advertise, network and inform the community about current political and social events.
Bruce Nelson is an Award-winning actor/filmmaker, as well as a respected producer and performer within the theater and film industry in Arizona. Growing up in a small black community in Mesa, Nelsonâs childhood included attending the segregated Booker T. Washington elementary school, pitching watermelons, picking cotton, and swimming in local Canals.
