Memorial for ‘Wallace and Ladmo’ star Bill Thompson set for Aug. 11
PHOENIX — A memorial for Bill Thompson, aka Wallace of the “Wallace and Ladmo Show,” has been scheduled for Aug. 11 at a metro Phoenix movie theater.
The beloved Thompson died Wednesday. He was 82.
The remembrance of the TV icon is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Harkins Tempe Marketplace’s Cine Capri, which seats about 600.
Thompson starred on the popular kids’ show from 1954 until it ended in 1989. He and co-stars Ladimir Kwiaktowski (Ladmo) and Pat McMahon created characters that connected with children and adults.
Kwiatkowski died in 1994. McMahon is a host at News/Talk 92.3 KTAR.
AZTV will broadcast “The Wallace and Ladmo 50th Anniversary Special” Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
