Acoustic rendition of ‘The Final Countdown’ will leave you wanting more hair metal covers

Many covers of “The Final Countdown” — originally performed by the band Europe — have had people far and wide busting out their air guitars to rock out to the 1980s hit.

This latest rendition, however, puts a down home, southern twist on a song that helped define the “hair metal” genre.

Performed by Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn in the video above, their acoustic version of the “The Final Countdown” will have you setting aside that invisible electric ax in favor of tapping your heel and slapping your thigh.
