Faith in Humanity: 5-year-old boy feeds, prays with homeless man

The actions of a 5-year-old boy brought an an entire restaurant to tears, after the boy convinced his mother to buy a homeless man a meal and continued to pray with him, according to WSFA-12.

Josiah Duncan noticed a homeless man outside the Prattville, Alabama Waffle House where he and his mother were eating. He began asking his mom some questions.

His mother, Ava Faulk, decided to tell her son about the man’s situation.

“And I said, ‘Well, because he’s homeless,’ and Josiah said, ‘What does that mean?'” Faulk said in an interview with WSFA-12. “I said, ‘That means he doesn’t have a house.'”

Josiah seemed to be bothered by one aspect of the man’s situation — he did not have any food. He asked his mom to buy the man a meal.

Before the man could take a bite into his hamburger, Josiah insisted on sharing a prayer with the man.

“God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen,” Josiah said.

Faulk admitted she cried, along with the 11 other customers in the restaurant.

“You never know who the angel on Earth is, and when the opportunity comes you should never walk away from it,” she said.
