Tombstone, Arizona bar named one of the most iconic in the nation

Big Nose Kate’s Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona was named the most iconic bar in the state, in a recent list published by Thrillist.com.

The saloon, built in the 1800s, was named after Big Nose Kate, who is believed to be the first prostitute in the Tombstone territory, according to its website.

With live country music and stained glass murals of former Pima County Sheriff Wyatt Earp and Big Nose Kate herself, the bar still has the feel of an 1800s saloon — minus the wild shootouts.

The bar offers guests “toe-tapping, hand-slapping, live country entertainment” with 12 draft beers on tap, the opportunity to dress up and pose alongside the bar’s most valued aspects, and even doubles as a wedding venue.
