Faith in Humanity: Scottish school hosts early prom for dying teen

A 15-year-old Scottish boy was able to keep a promise to take his girlfriend to the prom despite his dwindling health thanks to his school.

The Huffington Post reports Jak Trueman wanted nothing more than to take his girlfriend, Hannah Boyd, to prom.

The problem was Trueman, whose cancer was rapidly spreading and was taking a turn for the worse.

Not ones to sit around, students and teachers at West Calder High School organized a prom and made sure Trueman and Boyd were able to attend.

Though Trueman was unable to stay long because of his health, he said just knowing how much people cared about him made him smile.

The prom was held just in time. Trueman passed away on Feb. 4, just two days after the event.
