The attack came out of nowhere and the victim was badly hurt.

“Just after midnight, early Sunday morning on Oct 12, 2014,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Derek Elmore said. “A man was walking north on Seventh Avenue north of Indian School (Road).”

A vehicle pulled-up and stopped about 10 or 15 feet in front of the victim. A man got out of the passenger side, and brutally attacked the victim. The attacker then walked back to the car, got in and took off.

Police believe this is just a terrible, violent, random attack that so stunned the victim, he couldn’t give the police a description of the vehicle. Investigators said the victim did not know his attacker and had not been in any altercations or arguments earlier in the evening.

Next, investigators are doing a good job of tracking down the suspects robbing cell phone stores. They’re following the clues and tips as they come in and making arrests, but it’s hard to keep up with them.

This crime was on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at the ACE Cellular Store on Seventh Street near Roosevelt Street in Phoenix.

Elmore said two suspects walked in posing as customers and asking questions.

“They left, then one came back with a handgun and stole cash and cellphones from the store and also robbed the employee of his money and phone.”

The robber and his accomplice fled in a white U-Haul van.
