Faith in Humanity: Man starts dance party on train to break the ice

It’s strange: the times when we’re surrounded by people, on trains and buses during our commutes, can often be the most awkward part of our day.

The silence can be oppressive, as strangers usually don’t feel comfortable breaking the norm to start a friendly conversation with their neighbor.

But this Australian man, Peter Sharp, wants to change all that.

“Hey guys,” he announced on a moving train in Perth, Australia. “I don’t want money. I just want to spread a little bit of happiness. So I’m going to do that today by starting a small dance party.”

What follows involves a tuxedo, many smiles and lots of people’s days being made.

Sharp challenges those who watch his video to take advantage of the social opportunities presented to them every day, on their commutes and otherwise.

So go ahead, break the ice– tuxedo optional.
