Movies in a Minute: ‘The Equalizer’

Loosely based off of the ’90s television show, Denzel Washington starts off as just a normal guy with something deeper going on. He ends up being a secret vigilante for those who cannot defend themselves in “The Equalizer.” As the movie goes on, we find out about his past and watch as he kicks butt to the point of it being over the top.

Toward the end of the movie, there comes a time when the fighting becomes cartoonish when I would have preferred it to be more tempered. Other than that, Denzel does a great job. If you want blood, guts and violence, this movie has it in spades.
