Faith in Humanity: Wash. father with days to live checks items off his bucket list

Frank Henderson was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and told he has just days to live, but he is making the most of the time he has left, even celebrating Christmas and his daughter’s upcoming wedding months early.

Henderson, 60, is a proud father of five and grandfather of three. He underwent a CAT scan after complaining of stomach pains on Sept. 13, and doctors discovered cancer had spread everywhere, according to Today.com.

After learning he had only days to live, Henderson decided to make a bucket list with his family, which included hanging Christmas lights in September. His idea has inspired others in the community of Shoreline, Washington and around the world, his daughter Thea Henderson said.

“The one thing he wants people to know is that you need to spend time with your family, and to do the things you want to do,” she added. “Because, just like, in our situation, we had our lives ripped apart in an instant. And we don’t know how to put the pieces back together, but we’re doing the best we can to make moments with him, every single step of the way.”
