Phoenix Suns hiring singers, dancers, dunkers

PHOENIX — Do you think you have what it takes to sing to a crowd of thousands? Dance on a huge stage? What about dunking?

The Phoenix Suns are looking for people to perform the national anthem before the games. They are also seeking people who want to join the high-energy dunk team known as the Sol Patrol and the hip-hop dance team called the Solar Squad.

“We’re looking for males and females over the age of 18, (who are) passionate about performing, can pick up and learn choreography quickly and I think on all of these positions, we are looking for people who are passionate and have a love for the Phoenix Suns,” said Suns Vice President of Game Entertainment Kip Helt.

National anthem auditions will be held Wednesday at US Airways Center in the Casino Arizona Pavilion from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. No appointment is needed to try out, though we recommend you bring the pipes.

The Sol Patrol auditions will be held Thursday at US Airways Center on the Suns Main Court from 6-8 p.m. Though you will be working with the Gorilla, no experience working with animals is required.

If you have a passion for energetic hip-hop dancing, the Solar Squad auditions will be held on Saturday at US Airways Center on the Practice Court from noon to 5 p.m.

Please note to try out for the Sol Patrol or the Solar Squad you must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and bring a non-returnable photo and resume.
