Faith in Humanity: J.K. Rowling pens Dumbledore letter to girl who survived shooting

A Houston girl whose entire family was killed in a shooting received a special letter from Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore of “Harry Potter” fame.

According to the Huffington Post, the letter, handwritten by “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling, was sent to 15-year-old Cassidy Stay after she referenced the books in a memorial.

“In ‘The Prisoner of Azkaban,’ Dumbledore says: ‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light,” Stay said during the memorial.

After the speech, a Facebook page was launched encouraging Rowling to meet Stay. Either Rowling or her reps spotted the page, which resulted in the letter and a care package.

Rowling’s reps would not confirm what the author sent Stay, only saying the two were “in contact.”
