When 8-year-old Noah Aldrich decided he wanted to compete in a triathlon, he knew he didn’t want to go it alone. He wanted his younger brother, Lucas, with him.

The only problem? Lucas is confined to a wheelchair.

According to WFLA-TV, that wasn’t an issue for Noah. He just pulled or pushed Noah the entire way.

“They have an amazing bond. They’re best friends and they do everything together,” mom Alissa Aldrich told TODAY Parents. “The connection and the love that they share is truly unique.”

Over 200 meters of swimming, three miles of biking and one mile of running, Noah took Lucas on the triathlon of a lifetime.

Lucas was born with lissencephaly, a rare brain malfunction that rendered him mute and unable to walk. Though he couldn’t verbally tell his mom he enjoyed the race, she knew he did.

“When we got him out of the water, he had the biggest grin that you would have ever seen (and) I know he enjoyed the bike and the run,” his mom said.

Noah trained for three months to bring his brother along.
