Faith in Humanity: School funds janitor’s overseas trip to visit son

A janitor from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and his wife will soon head to Italy to visit his son who is stationed there thanks to some donations from staff and students at Anderson County High School.

According to the Huffington Post, staff first found out Ricky Spaulding had not seen his son in over a year and had yet to meet his grandson.

In total, the Spauldings were handed $1,900 to fund their trip.

“Ricky is just such a great guy,” school principal Chris Glass told LEX 18, “that it’s hard not to give to his cause.”

Spaulding said he and his wife plan on leaving as soon as possible.
