Coast to coast march for climate change awareness arrives in Phoenix

PHOENIX — They’re marching from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. for climate change.

The “mobile community” on the march for climate change awareness stopped in Phoenix at Margaret T. Hance Park on Monday.

“Our goal is to inspire action on the climate crisis,” said Jeffery Czerwiec with The Great March for Climate Action.

When they are finished, the marchers will have walked 2,980 miles over a period of about 8 months.

“We walk about 14 or 15 miles a day,” Czerwiec said. “So it’s rather manageable.”

He also said that people can join in and walk a segment or walk the whole thing with them.
