It’s great when a YouTube video showing people doing good things goes viral but it’s even better when the Internet piles goodwill on top of it.

According to the Huffington Post, it all started when YouTuber Magic of Rahat posted a video of him giving a “winning” lottery ticket to a homeless man.

The catch? The ticket was worthless. But Rahat had made an agreement with the clerk that he would pay the homeless man, Eric, $1,000 when he brought the ticket in.

“I wanted to create a moment of magic with him winning the lottery,” Rahat wrote on Reddit. “I could’ve just went up to him and gave him $1000, but I wanted to do it in a unique way.”

Eric immediately tried to share it but Rahat wouldn’t take a penny. Eric began to sob.

After the stunt, Eric was put up in a hotel room for two weeks. However, Rahat wasn’t done. He started a fundraising page to give Eric more money.

Since going online, it has raised more than $30,000. It’s amazing what the Internet can do with one small act of kindness.
