T-Mobile CEO booted from AT&T’s party at CES

By now you’ve probably heard that the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is going on in Las Vegas. But, did you know that this week the CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere, decided to “crash” AT&T’s party and was escorted out by security guards?

I’m sorry, but I have to laugh.

What was Legere thinking?

He says he showed up because he wanted to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis perform.

I don’t buy that. Let’s be honest, he posed for a picture with a business reporter who in turn posted that picture on Twitter. Did he really think no-one would notice he was there?

Give me a break.

Legere wanted to get “caught” for the publicity and because he’s been needling AT&T’s CEO, Randall Stephenson, for awhile. The two companies are rivals and Legere has made some pretty harsh remarks concerning AT&T.
To give you an idea of the bad blood between these two, AT&T announced last week that it would give T-Mobile customers as much as $450 in credits to switch over. Legere’s response on Twitter,

“Memory problems, eh Randall? Remember in September you said T-Mobile hadn’t impacted your business. Yeah, that’s why you’re bribing customers!”

Personally, I think Legere showed up at the party to rain on Stephenson’s parade. When you’re a CEO of a major company getting thrown out of a party by security guards is simply embarrassing and just shows your lack of class.
