PHOENIX – This bank robber needs to be benched.

Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch says the robbery happened during the lunch hour Monday, July 20, 2009.

Decked out in NBA gear, the man looked like he was ready for a game of hoops rather than a high-risk heist.

But while we may make fun of the way he was dressed, the crime he committed was very serious. Burch says the robber lifted his shirt like he had a gun and, when he got the cash, he took off on foot behind the store.

He is described as a black male in his mid 20s, six feet tall and roughly 200 lbs.
