Movies in a Minute: ‘True Story’
Michael Finkel, recently fired from being a journalist at the New York Times, learns of Christen Longo when the FBI tells him that Longo is using Finkel’s identity. Longo is accused of killing his wife and children. Finkel decides to meet Longo to get the truth while he’s in prison and the two develop a relationship.
This movie is terrifying when you start to discover the manipulation going on — on both sides — considering it’s based on a true story. There is some good acting in the film but I felt like I was left hanging a bit at the end. Not in the fact that the story didn’t wrap up, but I felt there was still more to be told.
