Will Jerice Hunter be convicted of first degree murder for being a bad mother to Jhessye Shockley?

The question has been answered; Jodi Arias has been. She will never again experience life as a free woman (unless of course she wins her inevitable appeal).

We can finally close the chapter, though not the book, on the Jodi Arias trial…or can we?

The trial of State v. Jerice Hunter commenced Wednesday in Judge Rosa Mroz’s courtroom.

New information has come to light in regard to the holdout juror and many are asking whether the non-verdict can be vacated or whether the holdout could be prosecuted or sued.

On Thursday Jodi Arias’ life was spared after a jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision in the penalty phrase of her retrial.

This resulted in a mistrial, a non-verdict, and transferred the responsibility of deciding Arias’ fate to Judge Sherry Stephens.

While a jury struggles to determine her fate, the possibilities for Jodi Arias’ future are clear — death row at Perryville Prison in Goodyear, Arizona or life in prison. Well, unless they hang. Then her future is either natural life in prison or life with a possibility of parole after 25 years.

Tuesday afternoon, Judge Sherry Stephens read the Jodi Arias jury a modified impasse instruction.

The State v. Jodi Arias jurors finished Day 3 of their deliberations with no verdict.

This brings their deliberating time to approximately 16 hours.

The State v. Jodi Arias trial entered a new phase Wednesday — deliberations. These will mark the conclusion of a trial which began back in December 2012.

The attorneys in the retrial of the penalty phase in State v. Jodi Arias started their closing arguments.

Judge Sherry Stephens will read the final jury instructions to the jury on Tuesday morning and then Kirk Nurmi and Juan Martinez will have their last opportunities to convince them to see the case from each of their views.
