Our annual festive, educational walk raises awareness of the importance of early detection of prostate cancer, the second-most diagnosed cancer in men. The walk also celebrates millions of prostate cancer survivors, and honors those whose lives have been lost to the disease.
Hundreds of Arizonans join their friends and neighbors in this event, highlighting National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The event is dedicated to the memory of Tim Barber, a Tempe police detective who was tragically lost to prostate cancer at an unusually early age.
This years event also honors the memory of POP founder Gene Felker, who passed away March 12, 2013 of a rare neurological disorder.
