Phoenix PD: Woman and two dogs found decapitated inside apartment

Phoenix Police Department confirmed that a woman and two dogs were found decapitated inside a Phoenix apartment on 13th place and Colter Saturday.

According to Phoenix Police Sergeant Trent Crump, a neighbor went over to check on his friend, who came to the door with his left arm amputated from the elbow and an eye out of his socket.

Police were called to the apartment, where the man admitted to police he killed three family members.

The suspect was treated at the scene and underwent surgery at a local hospital.

Police said the suspect and victim have histories of mental illness, domestic violence and drug abuse. They met in a mental health facility and later married, family told investigators.

The suspect was arrested in 2003 for attempting to kill a family member, while the victim was arrested in March when she allegedly tried to stab the suspect, according to police.
