Arizona girl wants to walk again to see Taylor Swift concert

PHOENIX — A young Arizona girl is using Taylor Swift and an upcoming concert to inspire her to walk again.

Eight-year-old Alize, diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, wants to walk again so she can go to a Taylor Swift concert in August, according to 12 News.

Transverse Myelitis is a lesion on the spine that makes it so the brain and the legs can’t communicate properly. Doctors said she may never walk again.

After months of being wheelchair-bound and listening to Swift’s music through speakers at therapy sessions to re-strengthen her legs, she is ready to take steps to walk again.

She already has been given braces for her legs, which she took her first step with. Next, she hopes to accomplish her goal of meeting Swift at her concert.

#TeamAlize is a campaign to support Allie’s recovery and raise awareness about Transverse Myelitis.
