Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey elected to GOP governors’ group committee

PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has been added to the roster of the Republican Governors Association executive committee.

Ducey and two others were elected, it was announced Wednesday, to replace a trio who dropped out to focus on their presidential aspirations.

Ducey joins Massachusett’s Charlie Baker and Nebraska’s Pete Ricketts to step in for departed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindahl and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

“These newly elected GOP governors, only six months into their terms, are getting results for their states by driving successful reform and already have impressive records and high approval ratings,” RGA Chairman Bill Haslam said in a statement. “They will be valuable members of the RGA’s leadership.”
