Retiring dance teacher performs routine to ‘Uptown Funk’
Who said retirement has to be boring?
Shirley Clements started hers off with a bang: The 60-year-old dance teacher performed a surprise dance routine to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” complete with backup dancers and break-dancing, the Huffington Post reported.
To celebrate her recent retirement from her position as a gym and dance teacher at a Vancouver-area school, Clements recreated a performance from a dance competition she founded 19 years ago.
Clements, who has been dancing since she was four, said she is “fantastically passionate” about dance. She said she used the routine, which has even been featured on Ellen, to leave her mark on the legacy of the competition.
Hopefully Bruno Mars will pull her out of retirement and bring her in as a backup dancer. You go, girl!
