Suspects sought in $5,000 convenience store robbery
PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for two men suspected of stealing $5,000 from a convenience store.
Sgt. Derek Elmore says “it started when the first suspect distracts the clerk by making a purchase and then staying up by the register and chatting with her for an extended period of time.”
While that was going on, Elmore said the second suspect went into the back of the store and stole $5,000 in cash from the office.
Both men left in a silver 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The burglary took place in the morning on Feb. 2 at the Super Plus 2000 Food Mart at 1133 East Indian School Road in Phoenix.
