Who knew just walking to the bus stop could be so dangerous?

This crime happened near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road on Sept. 21, 2013, just after 7 p.m. A young man was approached by a guy wearing a white hat. He had white headphones draped around his neck and a gun in his hand. He forced the victim to walk to an ATM.

“He made him pull out money from the ATM,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Derek Elmore. “He robbed him then he fled in a black Cadillac with chrome rims that was driven by a second suspect.”

Our next case takes us to the Metro PCS phone store at 35th Avenue and Southern Avenue on Sept. 17, 2014. It’s a Wednesday about 3:30 p.m.

A customer walked in and asked for the manager.

“The clerk said the manager wasn’t available,” said Elmore. “The man left the store.”

The same man returned 15 minutes later with another guy. They approached the clerk and this time, the second man pulled a gun.

The men forced the clerk into the back room and get on the floor then covered him with a store sign. They got away with about $1,500 in cash and phones.

Elmore said it’s obvious the first suspect’s original visit to the store was just to case the place.
