PHOENIX — “Stranger Danger” is a very real threat to both children and adults.

Our first case takes us to a neighborhood near 28th Avenue and McDowell on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.

An 11-year-old girl and her friends are outside. A guy in a dark green minivan drives by and makes threatening comments to the girls.

“Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the suspect was still seen in the neighborhood,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Derek Elmore said. “He was hanging around the victim’s house and driving by slowly.”

The 11-year-old had enough and decided to confront the stranger and ask him what he was doing.

“The suspect then grabbed the victim and attempted to pull her into the van,” Elmore explained. “She was able to escape his grasp and fled and the vehicle left the area.”

That dark green minivan should be easy to spot. It had dark windows, a skeleton face sticker on the rear window and had the numbers 1 through 10 on one side of the van and 1 through 20 on the other.
