The image of all female celebrities as rail thin waifs is becoming a thing of the past.
More and more these days, full figured women are shining in the world of television, movies and music. These voluptuous women represent the trendy plus size female. Consider these celebrities that knock ’em dead with their authentic and non-apologetic personae.

Adele – the red-hot singer from Great Britain, has one of the most acrobatic and versatile voices in modern music. She won six Grammy Awards for her album, “21”, and a plethora of other awards such as MTV Music Awards and BMI London Awards. Adele recently took home the Golden Globe award for the theme song to the movie, “Skyfall.”

Salma Hayek – is a beautifully curvy Mexican woman who has portrayed the artist Frida Kahlo, and has produced the television show, “Ugly Betty”. She voiced the “Kitty Softpaws” character in the animated movie, “Puss in Boots.” Hayek has been the main face of Avon and Revlon Cosmetics.

Queen Latifah – is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and actress. She began her career as a rap artist and has acted in movies, such as “The Secret Life of Bees”, and “What Happens in Vegas…”. The trendy plus size Queen of Hip Hop has collaborated with Tony Bennett and Missy Elliott, among others.

Rosie O’Donnell – is a talk show diva, a stand-up comedienne and actress. She has been on television shows like “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Nip/Tuck.” O’Donnell dishes with celebrities and fascinating people on her Emmy winning talk show. In addition, she has authored two autobiographies, “Find Me” and “Celebrity Detox.”

Oprah Winfrey – Need anymore be said about Oprah, who we are on a first name basis with? She is a talk show and cultural icon, bar none. Oprah acts, writes books, supports philanthropic causes, runs her own television network, and knows how to bring out the best in everyone.

Trisha Yearwood – is a country singer extraordinaire, with an assortment of country music awards, including the Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1998, for “How Do I Live.” She has been in the music business since the early 1990’s. Yearwood’s Food Network show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen”, which complements the two cookbooks she’s authored and began airing in 2012, is her newest venture.

Kirstie Alley – can dance with the stars and crack jokes with the gang at Cheers. She has excellent comedic chops, and she won a Golden Globe Award for her starring role on the television show, “Cheers.” Alley has starred in movies such as, “Shoot to Kill”, and “Look Who’s Talking”, and had roles in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and “Blind Date”. She twirled and tangoed her way into second place on “Dancing With the Stars”. She has also written two autobiographical books.

Jill Scott – is a modern day renaissance woman. This trendy plus size woman sings and writes songs, acts and writes poetry. Her first album, “Who Is Jill Scott?” went best selling double platinum. Her awards shelf is stocked with Billboard awards, Grammys, Soul Train awards and an NAACP Image Award. She played the indomitable character Precious Ramotswe in the HBO series, “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency”, and the role of Truvy in the movie remake of, “Steel Magnolias.”
