Making exercise and diet a priority in 2013

Resolutions seem the same every year. You make a decision to put exercise and diet at the top of the priority list, then you lose hope and drive. Make 2013 the year you keep exercise and diet a top priority. It’s easy when you do workouts you love that keep you on track.

Diet

Eating right starts with foods you choose and you enjoy. If you choose a plan that has boring food and mundane choices, you will fall off the wagon. Diets like Paleo and The Zone have shown great results in many people. They even have cookbooks you can follow to choose the meals you actually enjoy and will help you lose weight at the same time.

CrossFit WOD

Working out starts with the type of workouts you enjoy. CrossFit is a versatile exercise program that includes many different types of exercise with a mixture of weight lifting and cardio exercise. You don’t ever get bored. Do the CrossFit WOD, or Workout of the Day, to keep your body charged each day so you are always in motion in a different way. Before you do the WOD, you do a bit of cardio and stretching to ensure your body is ready to work. On some days you will even do strength training before your workout.

Zumba

Zumba is entertaining and burns calories at the same time. Zumba is all about having fun dancing for an entire hour. You do different dances with different moves so you are working all of your muscles and toning without realizing it! The music is upbeat and always changing so you don’t get stuck on the same song each day. No one cares how bad you dance either because everyone is there to burn off those calories.

Pilates

Pilates is relaxing and helps you lose weight at the same time. Pilates strengthens your muscles and helps you build endurance. You must focus on each stretch allowing your body to have a flowing movement. Pilates and yoga go hand-in-hand, so if you need focus and muscle strengthening, these are your best choice.

Spinning

Spinning always keeps you moving while those calories burn right off. Spinning classes give you the effect of riding a bike for many miles while staying in the same location. The classes are upbeat and always different so your boredom level will never skyrocket. The intensity and pedal rate are changed frequently so you must keep up your speed. Spinning is a great time combined with a wonderful workout.

CrossFit WOD, Zumba, Pilates and Spinning are just a few ways you can keep exercise a top priority in 2013. Eating balanced meals along with your workout of choice will help keep you fit and help you burn calories along the way. Don’t let your resolutions of staying on top of the diet fly out the window with the first piece of cake you eat. Hop on a bike, join CrossFit WOD, stretch or dance to stay on the road to success.
